Fire Chief

 

Chief Tom Weathers started his career in the fire service in 1977 after working in retail sales management.  Prior to employment with Northshore Fire Department in 2000, he served in the Flagstaff, Arizona Fire Department for 20 years after beginning his fire service career in the Douglas, Arizona Fire Department.

Tom has earned Master and Bachelor degrees in Psychology in addition to his degree in Fire Science.  He is also a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program. 
 

In addition to his work in the fire service, Chief Weathers was the Executive Director of the Coconino County SAFE KIDS Program, receiving National Coalition of the Year honors in that role. Chief Weathers also serves as an adjunct faculty member of the National Fire Academy and was on the faculty of a number of higher educational institutions. 

 

Chief Weathers has a strong belief in community service, which is demonstrated through his active Board participation in many organizations such the Northshore Rotary Club, Northshore Scholarship Foundation, Northshore YMCA, Northwest Burn Foundation and the American Burn Association’s Burn Prevention Committee.
