Recruit School

Recruit schools are held on an need basis, and are provided by the training division. The recruit school is held utilizing one of the training rooms of the participating agencies, with the school lasting 10 weeks. At the completion of the school, the firefighters are certified in Fire Fighter 1, Hazardous Materials awareness and operations and trained in required Human Resource topics.

MISSION STATEMENT:

Develop, conduct and evaluate a firefighter recruit training program which ensures that firefighter candidates meet all applicable criteria outlined in N.F.P.A. Standard #1001-Firefighter Professional Qualifications and specific departmental requirements. All firefighter candidates shall be held accountable for performing and conducting themselves in a manner which brings no discredit upon themselves or the department. All candidates will be treated in a manner which focuses on developing and achieving a high standard of performance for skills, knowledge and abilities.
