What is CERT?
CERT

Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) - Northshore Fire Department offers CERT training to citizens in the fire district.  CERT is about readiness, people helping people, rescuer safety, and doing the greatest good for the greatest number. CERT is a 21-hour Department of Homeland Security course that covers topics such as: Disaster Preparedness, Fire Suppression, Hazardous Materials, Light Search & Rescue, Disaster Medical Operations, Disaster Psychology and CERT Organization.  CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens will be initially on their own and their actions can make a difference.  The CERT program will provide citizens with an understanding of their responsibility in preparing for disaster. The CERT course will benefit any citizen who takes it.
